Singin’ the Blues

Piggy Bank June 4th, 2009

I was just sharing to my husband that I miss listening to my music.  And by saying “my” means my favorite songs from my CD collection.  Since I became my mom, my kid’s music has been “my” music, too.  Ask me the lyrics of a popular nursery rhyme song and I just might sing it for you. Hee hee.  If I could only get my little girl to listen to my music without fussing, complaining and screaming “Wiggles!” or “Hi-5!” then that would be treat for me!  One day, I’ll have my very own hobby room with a spanking sound system, oozing with nothing but my favorite tunes either from my CD collection or satellite radios.  That would be really cool.

Busy Days are Here Again

Piggy Bank May 18th, 2009

I’ve been so lazy in completing the few l1nk requests that I have from last week.  I hope the advertisers will not hate me for it and skip my blogs when passing assignments.  Boo.  It’s just that I’ve been busy with tons of things at home lately and my mind’s in high gear planning for the new baby and the logistics that go with the new changes.  I can’t squeeze in a few minutes to think of mesothelioma lawyers or diet pills with that! Hee hee.

Home Based

Piggy Bank May 15th, 2009

Many of our friends here are contemplating to buy properties this year.  It must be the government’s grant that entices them to make that big decision.  I’m sure they are all excited to eventually design their own homes, to make sure that every detail of the rooms down to fixtures (e.g. copper kitchen sinks) will be of their choosing.  When the right time comes for us to buy our own home, the design part will be the best and most exciting part for me, too.

We Just Love Apple Products

Piggy Bank May 15th, 2009

I’m thinking of getting an Ipod touch.  My daughter loves watching video clips on my phone and the downer is its limited capacity.  With an Ipod itouch, I can store more and the view screen is a lot better than my N95.  If it goes on sale (crossing toes, it does soon..), we’ll have two Ipods, one is with my husband and the new one will be for me.

Allergy-Free

Piggy Bank May 15th, 2009

My little girl never had allergy issues with food since she was an infant.  I’m very happy about that because now she eats practically any vegetable, meat, seafood that she can have at her age.  I do hope that her sibling will be the same, otherwise, a major menu change will be in order.  I might have to resort to purely organic plants and meats.

Dream Kitchen

Piggy Bank May 8th, 2009

Ever since I started cooking daily meals and baking every now and then, I’ve begun to be more particular with the kitchen’s details.  Like wanting to have a separate preparation table, a larger sink (not as big as zero radius sinks found at restaurant establishments) and more shelves for all my cooking and baking equipment.  It’s good that I’m learning more about what I want so that eventually, when we have our own home, I know what my dream kitchen will look like.

Travel Light

Samsonite luggage

There’s a sale of travel bags and luggage at the mall over the weekend.  A set of carry on bag, a small roller bag and a check-in luggage is on sale for a measly 75 dollars.  I’m not familiar with the brand, maybe it’s locally made but I find the price so cheap.  In my mind, I immediately questioned the quality of the bags.  After our luggage mishap earlier this year, I’d rather stick to a bit more expensive brand like Samsonite luggage and not worry about it’s durability that for sure will last for years and years.

Ready to Make a Sale?

Piggy Bank May 8th, 2009

With the unemployment rate rising nearly 6% this year, many people are bracing themselves for more possible layoffs or job losses. And those who have already lost their jobs are finding ways and means to fit into other potential jobs available.  Now that the property market is given a boost by the government with the first time buyers’ grant, it is no surprise that people are moving into sales career.  I’m sure it takes a knack for marketing and sales to be effective but with the current economic climate, people will bite the bullet to make good property sales.

Back-ups Galore

Piggy Bank May 8th, 2009

I finally bought a 1TB external hard disk for my iMac.  Now I can take advantage of Apple’s Time Machine feature, were auto-backups are scheduled every hour.  The hard disk retails for 195 bucks but the guy from JB Hi Fi gave me a 5 dollar off.  Hee. The hard disks with lower capacity were on sale but I was really eyeing the 1TB.  I hope to finish my photo and video back-ups soon.

A Good Weight Watch

Piggy Bank May 5th, 2009

I once heard in a TV advertisement that it’s easier to lose weight during the cold months.  I don’t know the scientific reasons behind it but personally, I find that it’s the opposite!  With less outdoor activities, you’re limited to go malling, do indoor activities like eating and sleeping. Ha!  Diet pill and weight loss companies are likely busier these colder months releasing atro phex reviews and diet tips to encourage people to keep a good weight watch!
