1. We are where He wants us to be. We have lived a full 6-7 years in Singapore and it was time to move on. I am glad we heeded His call.

2. Our new church. Back in Singapore, R and I did a lot of church hopping, which was tiring to say the least. Thankfully here in Sydney, we never had to. We felt at home in the first church we attended to. Would you believe that we later on found out that the pastor’s wife is a distant relative of my uncle? And that two of my church mates back in the Philippines are the pastor’s wife’s nieces? Small world.

3. Financial, material provisions. Even if we’re on single income now, we have enough to sustain our daily living, to spend for occasional recreational activities, to share with friends and family and still able to save.

4. Health. Aside from minor health issues, overall, the family’s in good shape.

5. Relationship with my family. My husband and daughter are my anchors. They keep me afloat, focused and content. Losing the career I once had (the very thing I thought gave me security) liberated me. Money, promotion or recognition – they are nothing but my family is everything.

Same with my bigger family back home. I am glad that my parents instilled the value of being close with my siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles. I wish to do the same with my daughter.

6. Relationship with friends. Knowing that there are people who love and care for me like family is a big blessing. I may not have a girl best friend but having my close friends around and blogger friends across the miles make me really happy.

7. The Internet. I can’t imagine living day to day without the internet. It’s like losing a friend to be honest. I surf for recipes, do research on my baby’s development, I do my hobbies and much more with the help of the internet.

8. My gadgets – laftafs and cameras. I know it sounds materialistic but I’m glad I’ve invested in them. I take care of them like my pets.
