Massive Sale

Piggy Bank July 12th, 2010

Just yesterday, while I was doing my grocery shopping, I hopped into an apparel store selling shirts in cheap prices.  Since we’re often wearing sweaters or jackets, I guess it won’t matter what shirt or blouse we’re wearing.  So I gave in to the temptation and bought two of each kind that I like in different colors.  That means, I’ll be modeling shirts sold on wholesale in the coming days.

Weight Loss Talk

My husband placed our sturdy weighing scale on our dining floors over the weekend.  We had to weigh a couple of luggage and the best way to do that is on hard floors.  Since it was there, I took the chance to check my weight and to my surprise, I’m back to my pre-pregnancy weight!  I was doubtful because my preggy jelly-belly is ever present and for a while thought I heard a voice saying, “That weighing scale is lying!” Ha ha.  But seriously, I’m that busy these days that I care less about what the weighing scale results.  I don’t think I need to scout for the best weight loss pills, although I am tempted to buy the Zumba DVDs.  Only because I want to keep fit and make my muscles strong enough to support my tiring bones.

Happily Busy

Piggy Bank July 7th, 2010

It is a busy week on our household. With a whirlwind of activities that we had the past two weeks, the last thing on our minds was to do house chores.  The kids, especially our eldest, had a blast going out about 4 times a week. It was a challenge for her to go back to her school routine last Monday morning.  But now, I’m on a cleaning spree!  I finished our living area yesterday, today the kitchen floors are spic and span and tonight the mattresses will get that much needed dusting and flipping over.

Stuff to Go

Piggy Bank June 24th, 2010

I have a huge box full of relief stuff that we’re not sure yet if we’ll be sending back to the Philippines or just donate them all here in Sydney.  Most of the contents are baby items but the box also has some office clothes, mens ties and shoes.  I’m glad that I’m done with the sorting and packing part, it took me a long while to scan through all our personal items and select which ones to give away.

In Better Shape

I don’t see myself working my butt off to achieve quick weight loss anytime soon.  I gained about 8 pounds since I had my second child but I think I look much fitter now.  My family used to tell me that I looked sick, problematic and miserable pre-pregnancy.  Hi hi.  And that conditioned my mind to love my current figure and forget about the clothes I left behind.

Winter’s Here

Piggy Bank June 4th, 2010

Now it’s officially winter, I feel my skin adjusting pretty well to the cold weather.  When we arrived Sydney coming from Manila in April, my skin got a bit dry but now it has gotten a lot better.  I was a bit worried to the point of planning to look for the best acne spot treatment because I notice whitish spots on my right arm caused by dryness.  Glad I stuck with my daily moisturizing regime.

Let’s Bake!

Piggy Bank June 4th, 2010

The past weeks, my interest in baking sweets started to grow.  I find myself spending precious minutes browsing for easy recipes to make brownies, chocolate crinkles and the likes.  Both my daughter and husband have ’sweet teeth’ and they sure love chocolate.  That I guess fuels me to make homemade goodies.  Well, if this becomes a serious hobby, I’d say goodbye to weight loss and planned ab workouts.

Blank Walls

Piggy Bank June 4th, 2010

My husband bought about 8 photo frames for me the other day.  I am planning to print 4×6 photos of the kids, frame them and hang them on the wall in my daughter’s bedroom.  I’m glad that we bought a reliable color printer that churns out good photo prints.  Of course, printer models like tm-t88iv will give you better results for bulk printing but for personal use, what I have is just as perfect.  I’m excited to see the fruit of my mini-project.

Kitchen Adventures

Piggy Bank June 2nd, 2010

If I were an active blogger, I would be posting a lot of “firsts” about my life as a stay-at-home.  Some are trivial, funny, shocking and sad but there are lessons learned in each experience.  Even the ones as mundane as removing scales from a fish.  Yes, it was my first time to do it here in Australia.  Then it even got ‘complicated’ when I bought a fish that still had its ‘insides’ in it.  Acck.  The highs and lows of being a stay at home mom. Hee.

Keeping Watch

Piggy Bank June 2nd, 2010

My 3 1/2 yrs old daughter learned how to navigate around you tube pretty quickly.  I make sure that I’m nearby when she watches her favorite clips there because there are a lot of ‘trashy’ ones.  Once, she clicked on a Dora video that looked so ‘innocent’ at first but turned out included a lot of cursing and foul language.  From then on, I became more vigilant in letting her use you tube.  I don’t want her to land on sites promoting bad language, sex (or extenze) or other adult materials.
